Rocky Mountain National Park
Take a drive through beautifully scenic Rocky Mountain National Park! We recommend entering near Estes Park (small town with touristy shops and restaurants) and driving to the Alpine Visitor Center on Trail Ridge Road - the highest continuous paved road in the United States, cresting at an elevation of 12,183 feet above sea level. There are plenty of opportunities to pull off and enjoy the views with short to minimal walking. The road is closed through the winter but opens towards the end of May so please confirm before adventuring. RMNP staff will update the Trail Ridge Road recorded phone line 970-586-1222 when the road status changes.
Bear Lake is another beautiful part of RMNP to explore with scenic drives and hiking trails but a timed-entry permit is required due to popularity. Plan ahead!
Wild Animal Sanctuary (45 mins)
The Sanctuary's two primary missions involve rescuing and caring for animals - and educating people about the Captive Wildlife Crisis. This is not a zoo - it offers a completely different experience than what most people are used to. You’ll see the animals in large acreage open habitats from a 1.5 mile elevated walkway.
Georgetown Loop Rail Road
Climb aboard and travel back in time to discover the rugged romance of the Colorado Rockies in the 1880s. Train Rides are Approximately 70 Minutes or 2.5 Hours with a Mine Tour
